Cancer vs. Startups… who wins?

There was a woman in the waiting room today, they asked her birthday.

September nineteenth, 1922. Almost twice as old as me.

I looked around and got to thinking. Folks here have better survival odds than my startup founders. 70% versus 30% will still be around in five years.

They seem happier too, funny, optimistic, well adjusted. Plus, there’s a chance of remission. Once you start your own company there’s no cure.

That made me feel better… about startups. Call me crazy.
