It’s inevitable. Whatever the reason, whoever’s fault it is, you will see a lawsuit if you run a business.

Here’s what to do RIGHT NOW!!!!

In the next minute, hour, day

  1. Take a deep breath.
  2. Figure out who is suing you.
  3. Read the lawsuit.
  4. Preserve your memories in writing. Do a 15-minute silent investigation
  5. Email your lawyer. Find the right litigator.
  6. Decide whether it is serious and right-size your response accordingly.
  7. Assemble your internal response team, no outsiders but the lawyers.
  8. Make a written policy plan.
  9. Stop any bleeding in CEO beast mode.
  10. You’ve got this, that’s why you’re CEO
